A Western Classic

A Western Classic

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
Awesome free tours! We have never been disappointed by spending our time here. We love the birds tour, you can hold the birds at the end. There is a bus tour to see the cats and dogs. Bunnies are a fun and quick tour, wild animal rehab tour, you can see the pigs at anytime without a tour. Also stop by the pet cemetery, really cool. (Located up Angels Canyon 5-10 minute drive)

Playing in the Sand

  • Coral Pink Sand Dunes

Coral Sand Dunes

Coral Sand Dunes
1,200 acres of beautiful shifting sand dunes surrounded by pine forest. The dunes are open to off-highway vehicles & dune buggies, but we just run, jump, and roll down the hills. We get sunburned & sandy, but there are hot showers available at the campground inside the park. (20 miles away, $8 day use fee, $3 senior use fee)

Zions National Park

Zions National Park
Perfect for a place to hike year round. We like to ride the free shuttle through the park, stop at the museum, get an ice cream cone at the lodge. There are a few really short hikes or some long amazing ones. ($25 entrance fee, 30.2 miles around 40 minute amazingly beautiful drive)

Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend
BEAUTIFUL, breathtaking cliff views, hold onto the little ones! Not too far of a walk from the parking lot, it's sandy so wear flip flops. Located just past the town of Page Arizona. (Free) ***If you are headed this way there are a lot of little places to stop and hike for a minute. Toadstools (pretty short little hike) Lake Powell overlook, Wire Pass, there is a Walmart in Page AZ.

Glen Canyon Dam

  • Glen Canyon Dam

Glen Canyon Dam

Glen Canyon Dam
Lake Powell - Wahweap Bay is just over 70 miles, 1 hour and 9 minutes away. The sites are breath taking.

Jacob Hamblin Park

is within walking distance, located at 100 North and 450 East. The cliffs at the end of the road past the park are beautiful to hike on for views of the town.

Little Hollywood Museum

Little Hollywood Museum
This museum boasts buildings and props from old movie sets. Be sure to bring a camera as there are a lot of fun photo-ops, we laughed a lot! It is a 5 minute drive located in downtown Kanab, signs are everywhere. (free)

Slot Canyon Fun

  • Wire Pass Trail (Buckskin Gulch access)

Buckskin Gulch

Buckskin Gulch
This is a beautiful hike! The entire hike is on level ground, easy for all. The first mile or so there is no shade, so go early in the morning or when the weather isn't so hot. Once in the canyon it is a beautiful slot canyon that intersects the buckskin gulch slot canyon. At the intersection of the canyons there is a huge opening with hundreds of Indian Petroglyphs. Accessible by 8.3 miles of dirt road on house rock valley road, which may be muddy. (1 hr 15 min drive, 3.4 miles to the intersection and back, $6 per person over 12 years)

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park
So unique! There are many options for hiking. There is a fun little wild west town across from Ruby's Inn, take a picture and a rest. Eat dinner at sunset in the restaurant inside the park, located on the rim of the canyon. ($25 entrance fee, 1 hour 30 minute drive through Red canyon)

Grand Canyon North Rim

Grand Canyon North Rim
The North Rim Lodge is only open seasonally May 15th to October 15th. The road may remain open until December 1st if the weather permits. Inspirational views, it's hard to really understand the vastness of this canyon. Stop at the Jacobs Lake lodge on the way for a delicious cookie from their bakery. Keep a lookout for bison and the Kaibab Squirrel. (1 hour 20 minute beautiful drive)
